The Jammu and Kashmir government has announced in latest order a hike in the Dearness Allowance (DA) for its employees, from 53% to 55% of their basic pay they are getting. This hike will be effective from January 1, 2025, as per an official order uploaded by Govt . The increment will benefit thousands of government employees working under the 7th Pay Commission recommendations in the state GOVT .The hike Acts as a relief to employees who have been awaiting for allowances to face inflation. Arrears to Be Paid in June 2025
In order it is also mentioned that DA Hike arrears for the period from January to May 2025 will be paid in June 2025 as New . This payment will be credited along with the June salary TO, employees. The arrears provided will cover the additional 2% DA difference for the past five months, so that employees receive their Salary without delay in time. The order also mentions , from June 2025 onwards, the enhanced 2% DA will be a permanent part of the monthly salary of employees.
Understand the Revised Pay Structure
The government’s order tells that the term ‘Basic Pay’ refers to the salary drawn in the pay level under the 7th Pay Commission of the employee, excluding other sections like special pay and other incentives. The order states that any DA calculation with fractions of 50 paisa or more will be rounded off to the next rupee, and if the amounts is below 50 paisa will be ignored an will not be provided. This rounding-off rule simplifies the salary payment process and minimizes complications in salary .
